Welcome Kaminer Haislip

You never know where your inspiration may come from. For silversmith Kaminer Haislip, the seed that grew into her career came from spending afternoons in her families True Value hardware store in Aiken, South Carolina. Her interest in creating three-dimensional objects and working with her hands led her to enroll in an industrial tech class to learn how to weld, and the rest, you could say, is history.

Ms. Haislip earned her BFA and MFA from Winthrop University while studying under well known English silversmith Alfred Ward. She was inspired to establish her studio in Charleston due to its long silversmithing tradition. Dedicated to carrying forth that legacy, she employs century old techniques in the creation of her original designs, all handcrafted her studio. Her most recent exhibition was here in Charleston at The City Gallery and we could not be more excited to welcome her to our gallery on March 1, 2019.

We will carry in the gallery examples of her hollow ware, silver ware, objects d’arte, and jewelry. On March 1st and 2nd she will be sharing her full collection in the gallery. Please stop by on the evening of March 1st between 5-8pm to welcome Kaminer Haislip to the gallery.
