If you are unfamiliar with West Fraser’s history he started his career using watercolor as his main medium. During his transition from watercolor to oil as his primary medium he continued to do small watercolors en plein air. These are his first attempts at nocturnes, painted on his favorite island Daws in the Port Royal Sound.
