Ben’s Buttonwood

West Fraser has been painting the streets of Charleston for over three decades. Many of the buildings and businesses depicted in his work are no longer there. In Ben’s Buttonwood, the foreground is filled with a buttonwood tree, which was planted by his friend Ben. The buttonwood tree is no longer there, but the house still stands. This piece is part of an estate collection.
