Terry Delapp (1934-2020)

Born 1934 in Pasadena, California, Terry Delapp created quiet, meditative paintings which inspire a spirit of contemplation. The viewer is drawn into a momentary state of stillness and quietude while looking at his works. Delapp explored, with his neo-tonalist style, the landscape of California. His landscapes depict these vanishing parts of California with patterns of color and pyramid structures. They are, in turn, symbolic of the disappearing landscape throughout the American continent. Delapp’s sentimentality with the California landscape evokes the spirit of the earlier California Impressionists.
