‘American Ghosts’ seems a novel idea. What’s the concept?

It’s just that. A novel in paint, inspired by the thirty years I’ve spent recording America’s landscape and folklore. It’s painted for my very American son, Finn, as much as anyone. Before he vanishes entirely into his phone, into technology, I want to tell him one last bedtime story- about his own land.
