Mr. Fraser often finds inspiraton in music and you’ll find names of paintings based on lyrics from songs he might be listening to. Inspired by music, Appogiatoora is the word for the grace note, or the note just before the melody. The grace note, if you will of the day, is the sunrise–the note just before the day begins. In this 25 x 30 inch painting we see a shrimp boat heading out for their day of fishing. The lights are on in the cabin, the nets are being unfurled and getting set to drop in the water for their precious catch. A still morning on the water, the only movement is the wake caused by the passing boat. It’s going to be a good day.
