31 Jan Benefit for Hallie Hill Animal Sanctuary February 8th and 9th
Helena Fox Fine Art is delighted to welcome back Kim Walters of Miller Mae Designs for a two day trunk show to benefit Hallie Hill Animal Sanctuary. Located between Charleston and Beaufort, Hallie Hill Animal Sanctuary is dedicated to providing a long-term, comfortable, loving home to abused, abandoned and neglected companion animals (dogs and cats).
Hallie Hill Animal Sanctuary serves as a cornerstone of Charleston County’s designation as a NO-KILL community and it’s continued commitment to the care of unwanted pets is significant to this designation. The shelter has a dedicated staff of five full-time employees and a cavalcade of enthusiastic volunteers doing a lion’s share of tasks to provide care and enrichment for its residents. Founded in 1998 by Helen McLeod Bradham, Hallie Hill was born of her deep-rooted belief that “humans could and should do better by animal companions living among them.” Today the shelter is home to approximately 200 dogs and cats; while some are great candidates for adoption, many are not. Helena Fox adopted her sweet Sir William from Hallie Hill about five years ago, but his mother remains a resident as she is not necessarily suited for the indoor home life. Willie, as we affectionately call him, has become an integral part of gallery life. He might be our best salesman!
These three pups are excellent representations of the happy animals excited about new homes. Although, life at Hallie Hill Animal Sanctuary is pretty darn good.
Helena Fox Fine Art has made it a mission of theirs to give back to the community as much as possible and having Kim Walters and Miller Mae Designs return for our 4th charity trunk show is a big part of that mission.
Kim Walters, and her daughter Barrett, are the dynamic duo behind Miller Mae’s ‘Bohemian Elegance.’ The business started when one of Kim’s daughters needed a particular kind of necklace for prom–everyone loved the necklace, and a the rest is history. They duo sources precious and semi-precious stones from around the globe and turns them into casually elegant jewelry that can be worn everyday. Mille Mae Designs was built on the “founding ideals of philanthropy and empowerment by creating designs using intricate beads and gems hand-molded by artisans across the world. With a focus on color, scale, and style, we love shocking you with jewelry that makes the extraordinary wearable everyday.”
